Songs from the Cinema”
The 75-voice Towne Singers community chorus is presenting its next concert at 4pm on Saturday June 7, 2025 at the First Church of the Nazarene (PazNaz), 3700 E Sierra Madre Blvd, Pasadena.
The chorus, under the direction of Lance Merrill, features singers from the greater Los Angeles area, and has been entertaining audiences in the Foothill communities for 37 years (and has performed in Italy, Austria, the British Isles, and at Carnegie Hall as well).
The concert features songs that were written for and originally had their debut in a movie, going as far back as 1926. In many cases these songs are well known, but their movie genesis has been forgotten. We aim to restore the connection! The show repertoire will include The Spirit of Adventure (Up), Highlights from La La Land , Wind Beneath My Wings (Beaches), the Pink Panther Theme, When She Loved Me (Toy Story 2), Blue Skies (The Jazz Singer), a medley from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and The Place Where Lost Things Are Found (Mary Poppins Returns).
The choral performance will be complemented by an entertaining narrative, choreography, and video features. During intermission, there will be a “Name That Movie” contest.
The PazNaz venue provides comfortable seating, and adjacent free parking. There are numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity for after-show dining.

Tickets $30, FREE for kids 12 & under, $20 for students 13 & up
$25 in blocks of 10 ( $250 per block )
Using PayPal
Towne Singers online ticket purchases are processed via PayPal, using either a conventional Credit Card, Debit Card, or a PayPal account. All transactions are secure.
You do not need to log in to PayPal if you choose to use your own credit card or debit card.
Note: a surcharge of $1 per ticket will be added to cover the processing charges.
Tickets will be held at the Will-Call table at PazNaz, to be picked up the night of the performance.
Using Zelle
You can now use Zelle to make ticket payments directly from your bank account.
To use Zelle you must use your banks website or app and navigate to Zelle payment and follow directions for sending a payment.
Use townesingers87@gmail.com as the account name to which you are sending payment. Additionally, please use the reason or note section to specify the type and quantity of the tickets you are ordering (e.g. “7 tickets at $30″). Your tickets will be held at the “Will Call” table.
